As part of Plein Air week, local artists are invited to participate in a Quick Draw contest in Robert Reed Park on Thurs, Sept. 8. And, anyone passing by is invited to watch! Artist registration begins at 12:30 pm and costs $5. Paint until 3 pm; Judging is 3 to 4 pm; 1st prize is $75; 2nd is $50; 3rd is $25. Paintings may be sold at the event. In case of rain or extreme heat, the Island Theatre Annex and the Island Community House will be open for shelter, to cool down, or to finish painting (as needed).
