PLEIN AIR ART EVENT - 9/6/25 TO 9/13/25

DIRECTIONS:
  • Read about the Plein Air Event in general at chincoteagueca.org/plein-air-art-show-sale.

  • Complete this form and submit it to apply as a student artist to CCA's 2025 Plein Air Art Event that will be held the week of 9/6/25 to 9/13/25.
  • Please provide a short biography of yourself and describe your goals.
  • Please upload photographs of three (3) of your artworks with your application (see below).
  • Please provide a short description or backstory for each artwork, you are submitting.
  • Please provide good photographic images of each artwork .  For tips on how to best photograph your art, click here.

    Enter a short description of the artwork such as a backstory, theme, why you painted - anything to make it interesting and better sell your art.

    By submitting this form, the artist agrees to the following terms:
    • Student acceptance to the event is limited. After completing this application, we will contact you to arrange a conference call to discuss your participation in the event. A decision on who to admit will be made by July 16, 2025.
    • The $35 registration fee is waived for student applicants.
    • Students are offered free housing for the event in a private home of a CCA member. Students will have their own bedroom.
    • Students are responsible for their own transportation, meals and other expenses during the event.
    • Artists paint outdoors on Chincoteague and/or Assateague during the event week: Sept. 6 - Sept. 13.
    • Pieces painted en plein air (outdoors) during the event week will be eligible for the Show/Sale on Sept. 13.
    • There will be a catered dinner for participating artists who reserve and pay in advance on Friday, Sept. 12. Attendance is limited.
    • There will be a free buffet artists dinner at the Chincoteague Center before the show on Sept. 13.
    • Student's art will be for sale at the Chincoteague Center on Sept. 13 from 6 to 9 PM.  Pieces must be framed, excepting canvases with finished edges.
    • A 25% commission on all art sales goes to benefit the CCA and its programs.
    • Artists are paid by check for sales one or two weeks after the show.

Please Note:  It may take considerable time for your submission to be processed, especially if your image files are large. Please wait for the confirmation page to appear and do not click submit more than once as that will slow the process.
