Description of Proposed Class
Needle felting is a craft in which a needle and wool fibers are used to create soft sculptures of animals, food and many other things. In this class, you will learn to make six inch gnome figures using wool over a pipe-cleaner base. You will be provided with instructions and and a supply kit with enough materials to make one gnome during the class and another at home. Your supply kit will include pipe cleaners, core wool, two felting needles, a pad to work on, colored wool and dyed locks for the gnomes' hair. Your supply kit is yours to keep and supplies for making additional gnomes will be available for purchase at the class.
Your instructor, JoAnn Stratakos, has been felting 3D wool sculptures for the past five years and gnomes have always been her favorite. Made from lambs wool and sporting dyed locks for their beards, these gnomes make a great ornament for the holidays. She will teach how to felt firmly and then decorate your gnome for the fall and Christmas season. After the class, you will have what you need to create gnome at home.
Please bring and wear a mask during the class. Covid-19. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
