MORNING LIGHT
Annie Compton

$300
Oil  -  8" H, 10" W
Framed - Total: 14" H, 16" W
Stood at the boat landing on Little Oyster Bay and looked north. WOW.
Those farm buildings and house looked like an American Classic scene, Chincoteague style. Solid, quiet, red roofed, and bright white in the morning light.

We met...all of us  attracted  by the unlikely facade. Like birds on a wire we four plein air  artists lined up along the sidewalk, brushes in hand and each painted a portrait of Gauls Store on Main Street. Here's mine.

Up on Chocks at Merritt Boatyard...waiting. I loved the curve of the bow and clean lines of her hull. She seemed to be willing to have her portrait painted so I obliged!
