Plein Air Art Show
Georgette Toews

After a 30 year career in the U.S. Air Force, Georgette Toews discovered a whole new world of art and a new passion.  She began painting in watercolor and then progressed to pastel, acrylic and finally, oil.  Her inspiration is often found all around her on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where she lives and the Delmarva Peninsula.  She is Vice President of the Working Artists Forum and formerly President of Kent Island Federation of Arts.

CHINCOTEAGUE MARSHES
Georgette Toews

$350
Oil  -  9" H, 12" W
Framed - Total: 15 1/2" H, 18 1/2" W
This scene is shortly after entering Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and has a broad view of the marshes and inlets from the Bay.  It's a beautiful, calm scene where you can often find lots of bird life looking for food in the streams.

PONIES AND EGRETS AT CHINCOTEAGUE
Georgette Toews

$550
Oil  -  8" H, 16" W
Framed  - Total: 13 1/2" H, 21 1/2" W
I found this scene on the small causeway shortly after entering Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge when I looked over and saw the ponies feeding in the marshy area.  In the foreground were egrets in the stream leading out to the ponies.  It was the perfect combination of images for the feeling of "place"..  Cars kept stopping to photograph the scene while I painted.  Some even took pictures of me painting.

SUNSET ON MISS BRITTANY
Georgette Toews

$375
Oil  -  9" H, 12" W
Framed  - Total: 15" H, 18" W
I was looking for a nice spot in Chincoteague to do an evening piece, drove out to the end of the island and found this marina.  As I painted, the sun started setting and the most beautiful coral sky developed with unusual clouds and light on the boats and water.
