BEACH GRASSES
J. Stacy Rogers

$770
Oil  -  11" H, 14" W
Framed - Total: 17" H, 20" W
Here I chose not to paint beach dunes, ocean waves or sunbathers but I focus on a more micro level to express the feeling of summertime at the beach.

CAPT. BOB'S
J. Stacy Rogers

$770
Oil  -  11" H, 14" W
Framed - Total: 17" H, 20" W
I was fortunate to find a spot just off the road to paint this busy bait & tackle; slip rental and boat launch business with loads of island character. Heard lots of fish stories as the morning outgoing boats started to return.

CHINCOTEAGUE DRAWBRIDGE
J. Stacy Rogers

$770
Oil  -  11" H, 14" W
Framed - Total: 17" H, 20" W
I caught the Chincoteague drawbridge, an iconic island structure, in early morning sunlight. Storm clouds were just beginning to form and by three o'clock it was pouring rain.

ISLAND THEATER
J. Stacy Rogers

$400
Oil  -  8" H, 10" W
Framed - Total: 14" H, 16" W
I fondly remember taking my high school date to a local town theater just like this one. That was quite a while ago and most of these movie houses have gone under the wrecking ball. This painting is a tip of the hat to the Chincoteague Island Arts Organization for preserving and making the theater complex relevant once again.

MISS BRITTANY
J. Stacy Rogers

$960
Oil  -  12" H, 16" W
Framed - Total: 18" H, 22" W
Happily I found this vintage, working vessel docked at the Curtis Merritt Harbor. Temps were well above the mid 90s but a tree in the parking lot and my plein air umbrella made staying and painting for five or six hours tolerable.

WILDLIFE REFUGE
J. Stacy Rogers

$960
Oil  -  12" H, 16" W
Framed - Total: 18" H, 22" W
All I wanted this day was to paint islands of pine trees surrounded by marshland but catching sunlight breaking through heavy cloud cover was the extra reward of getting up and out early. Another lucky happening of the day was finding that ponies, way off in the distance, had wandered into the scene.
