Plein Air Art Show
Maria Gayhart

I love painting. My passion for art began as a youth when I marveled at the beauty of the natural world. As a young girl I would spend all of my spare time in wooded areas and fields enjoying the trees, and the birds and the beautiful flowers. My love of nature has intensified over the years and it is the awe of the world that surrounds us that inspires my art.

PINE GROVE
Maria Gayhart

$225
Oil Painting - 10" H, 8" W
Framed - Total: 15" H,  13" W

This grove of pine trees is located in the marsh adjacent to the wildlife loop on Assateague Island. They seemed like a family admiring the marsh.

TIDE COMING IN
Maria Gayhart

$250
Oil Painting -  9" H, 12" W
Framed - Total: 13.5" H,  16.5" W

This is a familiar sight along the Assateague Beach road. The tide was just coming in. The marsh and water scenery is one of my favorite subjects.

LEONARD LANE SHED
Maria Gayhart

$250
Oil Painting -  11" H, 14" W
Framed - Total: 16" H,  19" W

I found this old shed with its dead tree companion at the edge of the marsh on a friend's property on Chincoteague. The two just seemed to belong together where they were and begged to be painted.
