WILL IT STORM AGAIN Susan Nicholas Gephart $1225 (includes insured shipping by artist) Oil on Canvas - 20" H, 20" W Framed - Total: 26" H, 26" W I'm passionate about the skies along the shoreline. I love capturing the atmosphere and drama of oncoming storms. This was a special day painting up high from my balcony looking down across the waters, as the skies were merging with an oncoming storm. The light was cast across the shorelines and moving fast. The distant buildings that I saw were at the NASA Flight Facility. Twas a good day for this painter. Questions? This location is a favorite spot to share with fellow artists. The sense of space looking across the grassland waters to distant shorelines immerses me in ever changing colors. RADIANT BLUE SKY Susan Nicholas Gephart $925 (includes insured shipping by artist) Oil - 20" H, 16" W Unframed on 1 1/2" wraparound canvas This was created during the exciting Chincoteague Plein Air one-hour Quick Draw, My favorite wetland island. It was my 9th year returning and a hot and bright sunny day with big cumulus clouds building above me and the town marina. I was captured by the beautiful skies and the wonderful experience of plein air painting with friends! Questions? Email [email protected] Click to purchase |
WATERLINE VIEW Susan Nicholas Gephart $275 (includes insured shipping by artist) Oil - 11" H, 7" W Unframed on 1 1/2" wraparound canvas I’ve been attending the Chincoteague Plein Air Paint Out for 10 years, and this particular year I treated myself and stayed in the Waterside Inn looking out onto the bay and NASA Base. It had been a rainy afternoon with thunderstorms. The skies were clearing as I set up my easel on my balcony. The beautiful view was absolutely stunning! My challenge was to capture the glow of light as the sun was setting on the edges of the clouds. What fun I had! Questions? Email [email protected] Click to purchase |

RADIANT VIOLET Susan Nicholas Gephart $215 (includes insured shipping by artist) Oil - 6" H, 12" W Unframed on 1 1/2" wraparound canvas Chincoteague island has so many sweet little wetland areas. This is a favorite of mine. Its distant shoreline, often hazy and atmospheric, is fronted by old pines along the water’s edge. The foreground wetland grasses were caught in the end of day light. The tide was coming in fast. Capturing this moment was a joy! Questions? Email S[email protected] Click to purchase |
