Plein Air Art Show
Tami Louco

Tami Louco was introduced to plein air painting in high school, painting a view of garages in an alley behind her art teacher's house in western Pennsylvania. She continued practicing art making at Geneva College and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in both Studio Art and English Literature. Tami works primarily in oil, painting landscapes, portraits and the figure, preferring to paint from life. Tami enjoys participating in plein air events, allowing intense focus on and appreciation of unique American landscapes.

RED HOUSE, PINK HOUSE
Tami Louco
$525
Oil Painting -  12" H, 12" W
Framed - Total: 18" H, 18" W

This bayside view appealed with the island style architecture combined with color and energy. The negative spaces (shapes between the objects) interested me and the challenge of representing receding space while having fun with the bright sunlit colors.

CERULEAN SAIL
Tami Louco
$550
Oil Painting -  11" H, 14" W
Framed - Total: 17" H, 20" W

This small sailboat caught my attention at the marina; It seems eager to get out and open the sails. The rhythm of the rocking dock may have helped with my depiction of the water.

CANAL COTTAGE
Tami Louco
$320
Oil Painting -  10" H, 8" W
Framed - Total: 16" H, 14" W
This was the view from our rental house deck. I was drawn to the golden light on the side of the house and its reflection in the water.

BEACH AFTER THE CROWDS
Tami Louco
$490
Oil Painting - 9" H, 12" W
Framed - Total: 15" H, 18" W

First we enjoyed the beach, then we pulled out our paints and, leaning into a headwind, forcefully churned out waves and shadows of the beach crest. Each little rock created its own shadow.

HARBOR BUDDIES
Tami Louco
$590
Oil Painting  -  16" H, 12" W
Framed - Total: 22" H, 18" W

These boats, though built for different purposes, seem to enjoy being together. Analogous colors in the water echo their togetherness.

MARSH AT DUSK
Tami Louco
$400
Oil Painting -  10" H, 10" W
Framed - Total: 15" H, 16" W

Capturing the fading view at dusk along the causeway made me work fast. The last light across the marsh is enchanting, cool lavenders contrasting with the golden glow of the vegetation. Noises of wildllfe get louder as the light fades.
